Mechanical Inspector
A Township Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that mechanical systems — including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and hydronic heating systems — are installed and functioning safely in compliance with local ordinances and State of Michigan codes.
Qualifications
- Must hold the appropriate State of Michigan mechanical licenses
- Should have relevant experience in:
- Hydronic heating systems
- HVAC systems
- Refrigeration systems
- Other mechanical specialties as applicable
Responsibilities
- Review applications and verify that all required licenses and certifications are current and included with permit submissions
- Issue permits for mechanical work
- Conduct inspections at various stages of construction and installation to ensure compliance with state and township requirements
- Confirm that all mechanical systems are safe, efficient, and code-compliant
